Response of Flexible Structures to Dynamic Wind Loading
This course is intended as an introduction to the analysis and design of structures under dynamic wind loading conditions and explains the relevant principles and methods of structural dynamics. The course will include worked examples from practice. The course content focuses on structural dynamics and is designed to complement the ‘Wind Loading on Structures’ course which covers the basic quasi-static approach outlined in the Eurocode (IS EN 1991-1-4).
Available in-company and as an open course - 1 Day
Wind Loading of Structures
The purpose of this course is to introduce the concepts and methods of structural design and analysis for wind loading to practicing engineers. Delegates will learn about the physical processes causing the wind and how they impose loads on structures.
Available as an open course - 1 Day
IS 465
This course is intended for Engineers who are (or are likely to be) involved in any way with carrying out Building Condition assessments using Irish Standard “I.S. 465:2018 The Assessment, Testing & Categorisation of Damaged Buildings Incorporating Concrete Blocks Containing Certain Deleterious Materials”.
Available in-company and as an open course - 1 Day
CE Marking of Structural Steelwork
The aim of this programme is to equip candidates with the knowledge to fully understand the technical requirements and guidance on how they can ensure contracts are constructed in line with legislation and best practice.
Available in-company and as an open course - 1 Day
Introduction to BIM Principles
Building Information Modelling is quickly becoming an essential tool in Building & Infrastructure projects. This course explains the principles of BIM in plain English and the benefits to your company.
Available in-company and as an open course - 1 Day
Concrete Conservation Workshop - Appraisal and Repair of Historic Concrete
The assessment and appraisal of early concrete structures can require a different approach to modern methods of analysis and this course will cover how to interpret visual signs to determine their structural significance. The most common types of decay and failure will be discussed together with the investigations and tests that are needed as part of well-considered appraisal.
Available in-company and as an open course - 1 Day
Qualitative Analysis in Structural Engineering
The aim of this course is to provide participants with an understanding of qualitative analysis techniques used in structural analysis
Available in-company and as an open course - 1 Day
Embodied Carbon & Structural Design
The course addresses construction-related greenhouse gas emissions and offers innovative solutions, stressing that achieving Net Zero by 2050 requires significant changes. It highlights that material savings in structural design have a greater environmental impact than actions like reducing air travel.
Available in-company and as an open course - 1 Day
Digital Twin Technology ESF+ Course
This course aims to provide a basic understanding of Digital Twin and how it fits into the construction industry. It covers the benefits the digital twin could make & how digital twins of physical assets is obtained. The information gathered by creating a digital twin and what use it can be will also be discussed.
Available in-company and as an open course - 2 Days
Introduction to BIM with ISO 19650 & the Irish BIM Mandate
This course introduces BIM & IS019650 to designers, contractors & owners/operators using ISO19650 standards as well as supply chain roles & responsibilities.
