Engineers Ireland will be celebrating all things engineering this STEPS Engineers Week.
Join us for our Family Fairs on Saturday, 1 March and Sunday, 2 March 2025, and introduce your kids to the world of engineering.
To kick off Engineers Week 2025, the University of Galway is hosting a family fun day on Saturday, 1 March.
Attendees will be able to participate in science and engineering shows, workshops and hands-on activities as we learn about the world around us.

Our Dublin family fair will take place in Engineers Ireland, Clyde Road on Sunday, 2 March. This event is free to all.

• Rediscovery Centre Engineering Workshop
This engineering workshop introduces engineering concepts and processes, types of engineering, and illustrates how engineering is an essential part of our lives. the hands-on activities develop mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, and spatial awareness, and help foster an interest in engineering.
The activities include a range of engineering challenges, from K’nex constructions to building an earthquake-proof house.

• Lego® Motorised Hand Mixer STEM Workshop
This workshop is specially for our enthusiastic young engineers on the launch of Engineers Week 2025. We have arranged for three STEM Lego based workshops. Each workshop consists of building an amazing unique Lego model whilst learning a STEM-based concept in action.

Celebrate Engineers Week and discover this enchanting blend of science and drama in Scientific Sue’s Engineering, Chemistry & the Celts show. Step back into the Iron Age and immerse yourself in the world of the Irish Celts with Scientific Cue’s innovative engineering and science show, "Engineering, Chemistry and the Celts."
Designed for both family and school audiences, this dynamic performance will captivate and educate young minds through the magical lens of engineering, chemistry and history.
Scientific Sue’s wacky combination of science, engineering, drama and storytelling makes this educational programme at times funny, magical but always thought-provoking.

Discover the magic of a sensory room on wheels. Offering a mobile sanctuary, allowing for flexibility and inclusivity on the go. From calming environments to sensory friendly tools, the Sensory Vroom is a gamechanger in meeting diverse needs. The perfect size for a family, or alternatively we suggest allowing around 2-6 people at a time. Fully wheelchair accessible.
Experience family fun in Cork on Sunday, 2 March at Old Cork Waterworks. Admission is free and children and adults can enjoy a series of stands and activities, with all activities staffed by volunteers from Engineers Ireland Cork branch.
