Third-level engineering students across Ireland are now being called upon to submit their entries for the 2022 Siemens Innovative Student Engineer Award.
Now in its 23rd year, the competition provides an opportunity for third-level engineering students and graduates of 2022 to submit projects that showcase engineering innovation, sustainable design, and commercial potential.
Following a shortlisting process, finalists will be invited to an in-person awards event in Clyde Road where the winner will be chosen following a presentation to a panel of engineering professionals, industry experts and entrepreneurs. The winning student or team will have the chance to join the illustrious list of former winners and be named the 2022 Siemens Innovative Student Engineer of the Year.
Engineers Ireland is pleased to have the continued support of Siemens for this competition, an organisation who first recognised the talent of our student engineers and who have supported this award and competition since 1999.
Commenting on the Innovative Student Engineer of the Year Award, Joe Walsh, General Manager, Siemens Ltd: “To overcome the challenge of Global Warming, sustainability is no longer an option, rather it is a business imperative. Siemens believe the greatest impact will be created by providing innovative technology that reduces CO2 emissions. Key to achieving this will be enthusiastic student who are willing to experiment and learn new skills in an ever-evolving world.”
