This eight module course, over eight half days, is designed to develop skills and knowledge in flood risk management for key Local Authority staff involved in managing, planning and responding to flood risk while also highlighting the need to implement climate action in this area.
Training aim
To develop skills and knowledge in flood risk management for key Local Authority staff involved in managing, planning and responding to flood risk while also highlighting the need to implement climate.
Learning objectives
The focus of the training programme is to provide a general overview of flood policy in Ireland and the role and responsibilities of Local Authorities in this area, as well as providing guidance on implementing the Planning Guidelines and undertaking or reviewing Flood Risk Assessments. The training will also provide participants with an overview on how flooding can occur, the increasing risk due to climate change, and how to adapt and build resilience and resistance to this risk.
