The STEPS Young Engineers Award is a project-style competition aimed at 3rd and 4th class primary school students in the Republic of Ireland. STEPS offers teachers the option to invite a STEPS Volunteer Engineer to their class to give their students an opportunity to showcase their projects to a REAL engineer! STEPS Engineers tell the class a bit about their life as an engineer, listen to the students’ presentations and give some encouraging feedback. They do not judge the projects. It is a very exciting day for the young engineers. It is also a fantastic experience to build confidence and to learn to present work as a team a young age.
