Details

1-day course

CPD Credit: 6 hours, C1

Course Aim

This course aims to provide attendees with a background of knowledge of the different types of Low Voltage Systems that may be used in the Rail Environment

Course Overview

This course provides an overview of the design of low voltage (LV) power distribution for railways. It also covers the fundamentals of Railway Engineering Principles in accordance with relevant procedures and regulations.

The Railway Low Voltage Systems Design Appreciation Overview course is a one day course aimed at providing attendees with a background of knowledge of the different types of Low Voltage Systems that may be used in the Rail Environment.

The course is aimed at those looking for a broad overview of the different systems and the issues faced in producing Low Voltage Designs such as Project Engineers, Graduate Engineers, Engineering Apprentices and Project Managers.

The course provides an insight into the different elements that make up a Low Voltage System such as different sources of supply, types of load and how those loads are assessed.

It will also cover some of the more common issues that face designers and installers. It will cover the relevant standards that have to be adhered to, common equipment used, design techniques and common software used for calculations and design production.

Who should attend

Designers, project managers, and individuals seeking industry knowledge, with a basic understanding of Railway Engineering Principles in accordance with relevant procedures and regulations.

This course may also prove beneficial for academic students who are exploring career opportunities and industry professionals from other fields who are interested in transitioning their skills to the rail sector.
