Course Overview
This course is designed for all those involved in NEC projects. This is not just the NEC4, but existing NEC3 projects, and seeks to give an insight in the changes to the suite, and the practical effects this will have on Clients, Consultants and Contractors.
The NEC4 was launched with much anticipation in June 2017. There was much said about the revolutionary nature of the changes to the entire suite, and that the NEC4 would maintain the ethos of management and co-operative working that its predecessors had.
Some changes are slight, some changes are extremely significant, and as with each revision of any standard form, everyone involved from client to consultants to the supply chain, need to be aware of these changes and how it will affect them and the project.
The NEC3 is fast becoming one of the most popular alternatives for public and private engineering and construction works in Ireland. Further to this, as the NEC3 is the primary contract for public works in the UK and North of Ireland, it has specific appeal for those members of the supply chain working across the Irish Sea.
With the advent of the NEC4, it is crucial that clients, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors prepare themselves for these changes and make themselves aware of how the NEC4 has altered the NEC suite, and the impact this will have on upcoming NEC4 projects.

Trainer’s Profile
David McNeice, LLB, LLM, AMICE, ACIArb, Solicitor
David McNeice is a solicitor and extensive experience dedicated specifically to working in the construction and engineering sector. David has worked with some of the UK and Ireland’s largest public authorities, contractors and sub-contractors, as well as advising all members of the supply chain on PWC, FIDIC, NEC and JCT projects.
David is regularly invited to give guest talks and public seminars on the NEC and best practice to various institutions, including the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Builders, the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Institute of Engineers Ireland. David is also the Convenor of the Adjudication Society for Ireland. He is an Associate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (AMICE).
