CVs won’t write themselves, and Interviews are not random casual conversations - they both require your investment by way of focused relevant preparation.
This one-day session will break down the standard process of writing a professional CV and preparing for a competency-based selection interview.
It will help you to self-promote, and consider the manner in which you tell your Why Me? Story while creating confidence and positively standing out in the eyes of your future employer.

- Building your Why Me? statement.
- Exploring the research that gives you the context for bespoke CVs - cover letters – competencies.
- Discussing the structure and relevant content of your CV - giving employers what they expect and more.
- Sharing insights from a selection of Irish employers. Survey results that point us in the right direction.
- Examining the key steps of the competency-based interview process in person & virtually.
- How to create a strong lasting first impression.
- Effective verbal & non verbal communication.
- Ensuring you project a confident air and attitude.

Trainer's Profile
Phil Kildea
Phil Kildea is a trainer, business mentor and executive coach with over 20 years training experience. He works with clients from a broad range of industries in the private and public sectors. He specialises in Performance Management, Negotiation & Selling Skills, Management Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Personal Development and Customer Care.
Phil has a very energetic, participative delivery style, and proactively encourages the best from his course participants. He has been successfully delivering training on behalf of Engineers Ireland since 2007 helping Engineers to develop and enhance their skills in a range of key competences.
He has several qualifications including a Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Studies (1st Class Hons), a Graduateship in Marketing from MII, a National Diploma in Personnel Management, Graduate Diploma in Executive Coaching and Certificates in Training and Continuing Education. Phil is a certified NLP master practitioner. He also lectures part time in Business Policy for the Institute of Public Administration.
