1-day course
CPD Credit: 6.5 hours, C1
Course Overview
Regulating odour is one of the most challenging areas of air quality management. Odour is a highly complex and subjective issue, and what is offensive to one person may not be offensive to another.
There is no simple “one-size fits all” solution to odour problems: often there is a combination of measures that go towards resolution of the problem. These can range from very simple measures, to very complex measures. Therefore, it is important that a timely, realistic, cost effective and proportionate approach is taken to resolve odour issues.
The course will examine legislation, guidance notes and case studies of relation to odour management.
The course will detail the methodology to analyse potential sources and determine if the odour sources are of the odour problem and the relative effectiveness of mitigation measures.
The course will examine the assessment of odour and create a custom resolution plan to rectify the issue such as:
- Site management and housekeeping procedures
- Operational and process changes – Odour Management Plan
- Containment
- Enclosure with end-of-pipe treatment.
