The STEPS Young Engineers Award Volunteer Programme is now open for registration.
We encourage all members to sign-up to support our future engineers and to visit schools who are taking part in the STEPS Young Engineers Award 2023-2024.
The STEPS Young Engineers Award is a project-style competition aimed at 3rd and 4th class primary school students. An important and much-loved part of the students’ engineering journey is for the teams to present their projects to an engineer.
Volunteer Engineers play a crucial role in the competition by providing encouraging feedback on students’ presentations and by providing students with an insight into their life as an engineer and some projects they have also worked on.
To find out more about volunteering with STEPS, sign-up to attend a STEPS Volunteer Engineer Workshop. Multiple session dates are currently available from 4 September 2023.
Please note that all STEPS Volunteer Engineers must attend one workshop annually to learn more about our latest resources and for Child Safe-guarding purposes. Click here for more information.
STEPS is funded by the Department of Education and industry leaders Arup, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), ESB, Intel and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
