Ireland has now moved to Phase 2 of the Government’s revised 4-phase Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business. The next phases of reopening will be Monday 29 June and Monday 20 July.
The team in Engineers Ireland remains fully available to you, our members, and staff are contactable by phone, video conference, email and social media. Please do reach out to discuss work, plan a meeting with us, or discuss any other matter. Contact phone numbers for our main departments are available on our website here. More information about our current activities is provided below.
The National Return to Work Safely Protocol is a guide for businesses in making assessments and adapting workplace procedures and practices to comply fully with the Covid-19 related public health protection measures. It sets out in very clear terms for employers and workers, the steps they must take before a workplace reopens, and then while it continues to operate.
The health, safety and wellbeing of staff, members, visitors and public remains our primary concern.
Therefore as restrictions ease, the team in Engineers Ireland:
- Is preparing our head office for safe reoccupation, when appropriate, and in line with the National Return to Work Safely Protocol and the Government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business.
- Is working to support staff returning to workplace-working and welcoming our members and visitors to our office, as it becomes prudent to do so.
- Will be setting out appropriate protocols to minimise the potential for transmission of the virus.

The Department of Foreign Affairs advises citizens against non-essential travel outside Ireland at the moment.
The Irish Authorities require anyone coming into Ireland, apart from Northern Ireland, to self-isolate for 14 days. Passengers arriving to Ireland from overseas are obliged to complete a mandatory Public Health Passenger Locator Form and to submit it to the relevant authority at their port of entry. To access that form and for more travel advice detail into Ireland see here.
If you are a member working abroad and are an Irish citizen, our Department of Foreign Affairs recommends you register with your local Irish Embassy or Consulate and regularly check their website and Twitter accounts for details of any local public health measures and travel restrictions. Likewise if you are a member, but not an Irish citizen, please keep in touch with the Embassy of your country or Consulate.
