Engineers Ireland's CPD team is welcoming applications to its Professional Diploma in Engineering, a TU Dublin accredited online programme that includes five core modules over 12 months, and which will afford graduates the building blocks to reach a high level of competence in engineering.
Build business competencies
This standalone Level 9 CPD diploma programme is designed for engineers who wish to develop their career, build business competencies and take on leadership and management roles.
It aims to specifically address gaps in knowledge, skills and behaviours across technology management, business acumen and engineering execution.
The major building blocks en route to high-level engineering competence are covered across five core modules over the diploma’s 12-month period.
Course components include engineering project management, effective leadership – analysis to action, lean principles and contract delivery, finance, risk analysis and presentation skills, strategy execution.
Rapidly changing organisations
The CPD Diploma in Professional Engineering is a unique delivery partnership that works hand-in-hand with an organisation and its people managers to accelerate the development of engineers, with solid experience and practice, into professional engineers with the knowledge, skills and abilities to take on the new roles and responsibilities required in rapidly changing organisations.
The diploma will commence in a fully online platform in January 2021. It will be delivered on a part-time basis, involving online classroom sessions, project work, assignments, research and workplace mentoring.

Delegates who wish to apply for the CPD Diploma in Professional Engineering, commencing in January 2021, are required to have a minimum of three years’ work experience in an engineering-led environment and to be in relevant full-time or part-time employment.
All applicants must be members of Engineers Ireland and hold a minimum qualification of an NFQ Level 8 Honours Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
Successful participants will receive a CPD Diploma in Professional Engineering from TU Dublin, which is worth 30 ECTS credits at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
