Fenagh Engineering & Testing, a leading US-based construction inspection and materials testing firm, has announced its first European office in Dublin supported by a significant €3m investment over the next three years.

Founded by Irish-American entrepreneur Patrick Greenan, this expansion marks a milestone in Fenagh’s journey to deliver high-quality third-party inspection, materials testing, and regulatory compliance services to Ireland’s thriving construction sector.

This investment reflects Fenagh’s long-term commitment to supporting Ireland’s construction needs at a critical time of growth and development.

The Dublin office will create 35 new jobs across key areas, including materials testing, assigned certification, specialist inspection, geotechnical engineering, business development, project management, and support functions.

'Play an essential role in supporting Ireland’s construction industry'

“With our proprietary technologies, skilled team, and dedication to quality and accountability, Fenagh is ready to play an essential role in supporting Ireland’s construction industry,” said Darren Bergin, managing director of Fenagh Engineering & Testing in Ireland.

“This is the beginning of a long-term commitment to help meet the country’s housing and infrastructure goals while setting new benchmarks for quality, compliance, and excellence.”

Fenagh’s expansion into Dublin builds on its established reputation in the United States, where it has provided proactive and innovative solutions to high-profile clients such as Apple, Tesla, US state hospitals, data centers, and leading universities including MIT, Harvard, and Columbia.

With more than three decades of expertise, Fenagh specialises in managing complex construction projects through its accredited labs and proprietary elas® technology, offering efficient, real-time reporting to ensure projects meet rigorous international standards.

Fenagh’s Dublin office will also act as its European headquarters, with plans already under way to expand into other European markets, including the UK. This strategic move reinforces Fenagh’s goal of establishing a competitive presence across the continent, providing trusted support to construction professionals navigating a dynamic and evolving industry.

“Our decision to launch in Dublin reflects not only our confidence in Ireland’s dynamic construction sector but also our belief in offering something fresh and innovative to the market,” added Bergin. “We’re proud to invest in Ireland, create jobs, and bring cutting-edge solutions to help clients achieve optimal project outcomes.”

Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland said: “I would like to welcome Fenagh Engineering & Testing and congratulate them on their decision to establish in Ireland with plans to hire over 35 employees. Ireland offers companies like Fenagh Engineering & Testing a great opportunity to expand and grow into Europe. I would like to wish them every success for the future.’’

In line with its commitment to innovation, Fenagh has also partnered with Dr Mark Mulville and Dr Susan McKeever of Technological University Dublin's (TU Dublin) Built Environment Research and Innovation Centre (BERIC) on a groundbreaking AI Construction Research Program.

This 10-month collaborative project, supported by Construct Innovate will integrate advanced AI technologies—such as computer vision and machine learning – to improve accuracy and efficiency in construction inspections.
