Climate breakdown and biodiversity collapse are the most serious issues of our time and transformational action is required in all engineering sectors and disciplines.
Engineers Ireland’s Sustainability Grand Tour, commencing on January 20, 2021, will seek to educate and empower engineers across all sectors to be drivers of climate action in their own network and champion the principles and practices of sustainable development.
The online series of events will comprise of about 12 webinars and panel discussions which will take place each week from January through to April and will focus on topics ranging from road design to sustainable housing and energy efficient design.
This free-to-attend series of events has been developed by Engineers Ireland’s sectors in response to our National Recovery Initiative, launched by president, Maurice Buckley.
A number of sectors have collaborated to bring this series to fruition, including the West, Cork, South East, GB, North East, Northern and Midlands regions, the Energy, Environment and Climate Action Division and the Roads and Transportation Society.
