EirGrid Group has announced the appointment of Cathal Marley as its new chief executive officer.
Marley joins EirGrid from Gas Networks Ireland where he is chief executive and brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in the utilities and infrastructure sector across the electricity, gas and water industries.

Marley will take up the role in early April 2025.

Extensive background in delivering large scale infrastructure projects and programmes. Strategic focus on climate change & renewable gases, namely biomethane and hydrogen. Skilled in strategy, stakeholder engagement, commercial finance and talent development.Strong business development professional with a MBA from Michael Smurfit Business School, UCD, Ireland".
