Irish company OKTO Technologies and Samsung partner to deliver world’s biggest screen to multimillion-euro properties, it has been revealed.
Luxury home entertainment
OKTO Technologies is the only company in Ireland to achieve strategic partnership status with Samsung for ‘the Wall’ - its latest innovation in luxury home entertainment.
As partner, OKTO becomes Samsung’s first official supplier and integrator of the Wall, the world’s largest, bespoke screen, which measures up to 292 inches.
Aimed at the high-end consumer market and featured in some of the world’s most expensive residential properties, the Wall uses the latest microLED technology to provide a cinema experience in the home.
Built as a modular system, the vast single screen offers unprecedented quality in terms of picture, colour and definition. Its unique flexibility means it can be used to display art, for multiple individual video feeds, or for watching movies in ultra-high resolution.
The partnership is another important first for OKTO which specialises in developing and installing smart building technologies in the world’s most exclusive residential properties, luxury hotels and commercial office spaces.
Four major contracts
The company is currently working on four major contracts – worth more than £15 million – which are all located in London’s West End.
OKTO’s partnership with Samsung was agreed in February at ISE, the world’s biggest AV and Systems Integration Exhibition in Amsterdam.
Samsung selected OKTO based on its expertise in developing and implementing cutting-edge technologies, combined with the Northern Irish company’s experience of working with the world’s top property developers, architects and designers.
Kris Hogg, Samsung’s European business manager for Luxury Living, said: “Samsung’s goal with the Wall was to create a product unlike anything else – matching the lifestyle and taste of those looking for the most exclusive visual experiences in their homes.
Demands specialism and expertise
“However, integrating such leading-edge technology in multimillion-pound properties also demands specialism and expertise. OKTO’s uncompromising attention to detail, highly qualified team, and industry leading systems secured its inclusion in our specialist dealer network.”
With OKTO due to install the first Samsung Walls this summer, managing director Philip Dowds said: “We’re thrilled to have achieved partnership status with Samsung and welcome their belief in our systems and people.
"As soon as travel restrictions are eased, we will be showcasing the Wall at Samsung’s exclusive demonstration apartment in Monaco and we plan to build on the relationship by visiting their head office in Korea.
“Having completed Samsung’s extensive training programme our team look forward to bringing this next level in home entertainment to the super-prime residential market throughout Europe and beyond.”
