Training aim
To give experienced designers (architects/engineers/technicians) the tools necessary to ensure compliance with the legal requirements for carrying risk assessments as part of the design process.

Course outline
Course outline - topics covered during course:
Legal Framework / Construction Regulations / Duty Holders / Duty of Designers / Risk Assessment / Principles of Prevention.
The training includes practical case studies to enable participants to be able to carry risk assessments of their designs and to produce documentation for the PSDP as required.
Trainer's profile
Ita Leyden - B.E., M.Sc., Dip.Em, C.Eng M.IEI, C.MIOSH Managing Director.
Ita is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Safety Professional with over 25 years experience in safety, engineering and ergonomics. Working in all areas of business, Ita has worked in construction and design as a client, designer, PSDP and PSCS over the past 20 years.
Ita is also a part time lecturer of Ergonomics in University College of Dublin.
