One of Ireland’s leading manufacturing companies, Grant Engineering has led the way with their design and development of high quality, reliable heating products for four decades. Founded in 1978 by Stephen Grant, the company prides itself in combining precision engineering, innovation, performance and value for money to produce award-winning sustainable heating solutions that are trusted by architects, surveyors, installers and homeowners throughout Ireland and the UK. From award winning oil-fired condensing boilers to the latest renewable products, Grant’s heating systems have a reputation for quality that is second to none. From the Grant Vortex oil-fired condensing boilers to the Grant Spira and Grant Vecta biomass boilers, Grant Solar Thermal and the Aerona³ inverter driven air source heat pumps – Grant’s range of market-leading innovative heating technologies are designed with durability, sustainability and efficiency in mind to ensure they help customers save money and lower their carbon footprints. In autumn 2016, Grant launched its Grant Vortex Air Hybrid. This unique oil and heat pump hybrid offers a green alternative to both new builds and boiler replacements and helps to future-proof against unknown energy costs. The Grant Vortex Air Hybrid was developed by Grant’s in-house R&D team and combines a Grant Vortex Blue Max condensing oil-fired boiler, which features the latest blue flame burner technology, with a Grant Aerona³ inverter driven air source heat pump. The innovative Grant Vortex Air Hybrid heating solution combines two of the most cost-effective forms of fuel – oil and renewables – to ensure that homes and buildings are never without heat and fuel bills are kept to a minimum. The Vortex Air’s unique arrangement also means the oil boiler can be installed first (either internally or externally) as a stand-alone unit replacing an older oil-fired appliance if this is present and providing the household with immediate heat and hot water.

Cost-effective renewable alternative

The Grant Aerona³ inverter-driven air source heat pump can then be installed externally and can operate as a single unit completing this two-stage installation with minimum disruption to the home. If the oil boiler is located externally the Aerona³ can also join the oil boiler to create a single unit. The Grant Aerona3 inverter-driven air source heat pump provides a cost effective renewable alternative to traditional off-gas heating methods and helps to reduce carbon footprint. Providing both heating and hot water for the property, this innovative range features units with greater operating efficiencies at lower external temperatures, larger outputs to match the type of properties encountered and reduced noise levels when in operation. The Aerona3 is available in outputs of 6, 10 and 16kW and can be used as a stand-alone unit. Both the Grant Vortex Air Hybrid and the Aerona3 inverter driven air source heat pump, when used as a stand-alone unit, can help new build properties to meet the renewable obligation that is required under building regulations in the Republic of Ireland. Since its official launch to market in 2016, the Grant Vortex Air Hybrid has proven to be hugely popular and Grant has plans to launch more new products later this year including a unique low temperature condensing oil boiler. Demonstrating its dedication to innovation and maintaining marketplace competitiveness, these developments continue to reinforce Grant’s position at the forefront of heating and energy technology manufacturing in Ireland. Grant products are available from plumbing and heating merchants throughout Ireland. Free-of-charge heat loss calculations and DEAP product inputs are available for new build.
