On October 5, COMSOL, the global developer of the COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software, is holding a free one-day online event, COMSOL Day: Aerospace & Defence.
It will focus on simulation in the development of their related technological challenges, such as decarbonisation of aviation, electrification, use of composite and ceramic materials, integration of multiple sensors in digital twins and new manufacturing processes.
In a series of technical presentations, attendees will see how COMSOL Multiphysics® is being used to design aerospace and defence components and understand their underlying physical phenomena.
Keynote speakers from NASA Ames Research Centre, Northrup Grumman and Raytheon Technologies will discuss the use of multiphysics simulation to model a compressor used for CO2 removal in the International Space Station, researching thermal analysis of circuit boards and the aerospace and defence applications and opportunities related to the development of metamaterials.
Seven COMSOL presentations
In addition, there will be seven COMSOL presentations at the event:
- Modelling in Aerospace and Defence with COMSOL Multiphysics®
- Metamaterials
- Composite Materials
- Introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics®
- MEMS
- Optimisation
- Heat Transfer in Spacecraft
- Acoustics & Aeroacoustics
- Low-Frequency Electromagnetics
Fierce competition in the aerospace and defence industry has driven widespread adoption of the use of modelling and simulation in product development.
Modelling and simulation tools for the fields of structural mechanics, acoustics and CFD have become standard in the industry. COMSOL Multiphysics® has been an important tool for many years in all of these fields, and, more specifically, for multiphysics modelling.
The event is open to all and attendance is free of charge. The start time is 4pm BST, attendees can join any session during the day and gain access to presentations after the event if they register beforehand.
