Hardworking, driven and enthusiastic third-level engineering students from the US are eager to boost their professional experience with unpaid summer internships in Ireland. 

Learn International is a study abroad consultancy, organising customised programmes for university students from the US and across Europe.

We have strong partnerships with several high-profile universities in the US to offer quality internships to their students during the summer months.

Each student is hand-picked for their specific academic competencies to support and drive your company’s project tasks.

Majors include all areas of engineering (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, aerospace, chemical, biomedical), biology, data science, and more!

Summer STEM Internships 2023

Dates: May 22-July 20, 2023

Duration: Nine weeks

Structure: Mondays-Thursdays

Office setting: In-office or hybrid

Location: Dublin and Galway (please see below for other locations)

Placements are unpaid and under 12 weeks, so students do not need a visa. Learn International arranges liability insurance for all students for the duration of their placements.

There are also no fees to partner with us and host our students, so there are no financial commitments required.

Companies have the option to either host students on site for four days per week, or to opt for a hybrid model with students spending two days in the office and two days at a co-working desk, which is arranged by Learn International. This helps alleviate space issues in small offices, and teaches students professional remote working skills.

Students will intern full working hours Monday-Thursday. Fridays are reserved for academic lectures and field trips organised by Learn International.

We will organise accommodation and likewise have staff on the ground to help both students and host companies, as well as a 24/7 emergency phone.

Can’t host this summer?

We run many internship programmes throughout the year and host summer interns on a yearly basis as well!

Here are some other programmes that may be more suitable for you:

Semester programmes: Starting every year end of September and end of January. Students are available for about two days per week (10-15 hours) and combine their internship with studying at one of the Irish universities. Available in Dublin and Limerick.

Summer 2024 programmes (and beyond): Next summer we will continue developing our internship programmes in Dublin and Galway. We are also expanding to Limerick and Cork.
