“I thoroughly enjoyed the graduate programme. I enjoyed the range of projects I was exposed to and the responsibility that was placed on me as a graduate.
I was involved in a number of HV projects over the past three years with the most interesting being the brand new 220 kV GIS substation being installed in Kilpaddoge, Co. Kerry, which is a piece of vital national infrastructure.
ESB is also a vibrant community. I’ve been involved in the ESB GAA 7s, the 5-a-side World Cup along with attending other social events which are a great way to meet new people across the company.”

“ESB’s graduate programme offers excellent prospects of challenge and development both internationally and nationally.
ESB has given me excellent opportunities working on large scale projects, like the construction and commissioning of Carrington combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station, an 880MW Power station in Manchester which powers one million homes.
Through the excellent training & development programme offered by ESB I have availed of an exceptional amount of professional training. On completion of the graduate programme this year the company have offered to sponsor me to complete a Master of Electrical Engineering.”

"I joined ESB as a Graduate Engineer in 2016. I really enjoy working for ESB, all of the staff members are really supportive and helpful and genuinely want you to succeed.
For me, one of the big advantages of the Graduate Development Programme is being assigned with both a buddy and a mentor. My buddy showed me around and introduced me to other members of staff. My mentor has been with me from day one and has guided me through the entire graduate programme and helped me through any problem I had along the way.
During my first year in ESB I have had the opportunity to work in Bahrain on a project providing Engineering and Design service for a power station."

I choose the ESB graduate programme because of their dedication to your professional and personal development and to furthering your career towards chartership.
In just three years I have received the most varied experience possible. I have worked on over 13 dams across Ireland, 7 wind farm projects, 2 gas power stations in the up and a biomass power plant in London.
I am currently working on a £1.4 billon power station project in the UK where I am helping design the civil engineering aspect of this 1600MW power station.
I helped develop and now successful runs ESB’s drone surveying dept. with two other colleagues which is revolutionising the way engineers capture and used data.
