Ecocem Ireland are an Irish company manufacturing Ground Granulated Blastfurnace Slag (GGBS) and other cementitious products for the past twelve years. Located in Dublin Port Ecocem supply GGBS in bulk to the readymix concrete industry and a blended cement in 25kg bags to the Hardware and DIY market. GGBS is a low carbon cement replacement specified by Engineers and Architects for its technically superior performance and whiter finish.

Course outline
The course describes what GGBS is, the manufacturing process and how it is used in concrete. Participants will get a clear understanding of the Technical, Architectural and Environmental advantages to using GGBS in a project as well as recent examples of practical application. How to specify GGBS and what to look for in a concrete mix design is discussed in detail to give participants the tools they need to use GGBS effectively in their next job.
Trainer's profile
Chartered Engineer with over fifteen years experience. Working with Ecocem for eleven years as their quality and technical management. A member of the Institute of Concrete Technology and a qualified Concrete Technologist. Has given CPD presentations to a range of engineering practices, contractors and specifiers.
