HomeBond was set up in 1978 to provide structural defects insurance to purchasers of new homes. To date over 650,000 homes have been registered with HomeBond. The company’s core function has been the provision of structural defects cover for purchasers of new homes, with a complementary focus on improving the general overall quality of residential construction in Ireland through advising, educating and training builders, building professionals and other interested parties.
Training aim
This one day course is designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of Part L of the Building Regulations and in particular the recent and pending changes.
Learning objectives
To provide an overview of Energy Conservation and its role in construction
To equip attendees with a complete understanding of Part L (Conservation of Fuel & Energy) of the Building Regulations
To give attendees the knowledge to design buildings in compliance with Technical Guidance Document L
To ensure attendees understand the key on-site energy related construction details
To ensure that attendees understand and realise the importance of compliance with TGD L and Legislation

Trainer's profile
Willie Keane (Dip. Eng, CEng, MIEI ) has been extensively involved in delivering lectures and presentations to building industry personnel, in particular during the annual series of HomeBond countrywide seminars. He has over 20 year’s construction experience. He is Housing Advisor for HomeBond and is involved in publication development and building system assessment. He is also a qualified Building Energy Rating Assessor and Air Tightness Tester. Willie is a Chartered Engineer.

Assessment & certification
The assessment will take the form of a Multiple Choice Question exam at the end of the each module. 7 hours CPD
