The Local Authority Services National Training Group (LASNTG) has the role of overseeing and managing on behalf of the 34 Local Authorities nationally, the provision of quality training to staff in the areas of roads, water and environment through a series of 4 National Committees and 5 Regional Training Centres based in Roscrea Co. Tipperary, Ballincollig Co. Cork, Ballycoolin, Co. Dublin, Castlebar Co. Mayo and Stranorlar Co. Donegal.

Training aim

To provide guidance and procedures for local authority staff on water supply hygiene

Learning objectives

The overall objective of this training programme is to provide guidance, procedures and training for Local Authorities on water supply hygiene and personnel working in Water Services Authorities, Group Water Supplies and Private Regulated Water  Supplies come into direct contact with the drinking water supply on a regular basis.  Cross contamination between water and wastewater must be avoided.

Course outline

The course outline is delivered by a series of training units which will cover the modules listed in the learning objectives.

Trainer's profile

The trainers are recruited from the bi-annual Tender List organised by the Local Authority Services National Training Group.  Course can be delivered by a number of trainers.

Assessment & certification

Assessment based on multiple choice questions. No formal certification.
