Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 25,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, and the public service. We have a vibrant community of members and a wide range of partners whose effort, expertise and influence significantly increase our reach and impact.

Today’s engineers work with a wide range of technologies, operate in global teams and are valued as innovators, technical experts and as business leaders. We support our members by ensuring that they are equipped to benefit from all the opportunities that a career in engineering brings, through a programme of ongoing accredited professional development and certification. We build long term relationships with our members, supporting their career development at all stages from students and recent graduates to senior engineers and CEOs.

Third Level engineering students and global engineers are an important and fast growing part of our engineering community. We have student members across Ireland and Northern Ireland who are supported on campus by a network of Engineers Ireland Academic Advocates. We have a particular focus on connecting our 3rd and 4th year students with potential employers.

Global Engineers are engineers who have recently arrived in Ireland for work. This is a fast growing and diverse group of engineers and Engineers Ireland wants to be their professional home in Ireland.

We have a role for a Community Engagement Executive to drive membership and engagement with students and global engineers. This person is a network builder and creates and delivers value to the community.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are:-

Student Engagement
  • Work closely with our community of student engineers and College Advocates to best understand their needs and grow our student membership;
  • Build the connection between our engineering students and engineering companies;
  • Take ownership of our event strategy, with a focus on high-quality events to connect our student community with our engineering companies;
  • Collaborate with the community to develop high quality digital resources to showcase engineering student projects, graduate engineers, student innovation and team projects;
  • Promote and develop the Innovate Student Competition;
  • Share weekly updates and metrics with the rest of the membership team;
  • In collaboration with our Marketing and Communications team source relevant content for our students and deepen our engagement on all social media platforms.

  • Engage the larger ecosystem for global engineers such as recruitment companies, embassies and government departments to raise our profile as the relevant professional body for global engineers in Ireland.
Candidate Requirements
  • A natural relationship-builder who will enjoy connecting with students, academics and global engineers;
  • A digital native, you feel incredibly comfortable working with online systems/tools;
  • You thrive in fast-moving work environments — you are independent, proactive, and feel comfortable executing with little direction;
  • You are comfortable in event design, execution and management;
  • Have excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communications skills.
