  • Date(s)
    Tuesday, 26 November 2019
  • Time(s)
    From 6:30 PM
  • Venue
Engineers Ireland, 22 Clyde Road Ballsbridge, Dublin 4

About the event

Engineers have an integral role to play in delivering infrastructure that improves public health and protects the environment, particularly regarding air quality, water and sanitation, transport, energy and climate change. However, infrastructure projects addressing these topics often face public opposition. Some examples include the Dublin Waste to Energy Facility, the Clonshaugh Wastewater Treatment, Bus Connects, Metrolink, and the North-South Interconnector.

This panel discussion will address improving communication and building trust between engineers, planners and environmental groups. This discussion will be chaired by Engineers Ireland President Marguerite Sayers, and panelists include:

  • Conall Boland - Former Deputy Chair of An Bord Pleánala and consultant with RPS
  • Catherine Sheridan - Ervia Communications Manager
  • Ian Lumley - An Taisce Built Environment & Heritage Officer

Free and all are welcome to attend. Folowing the panel discussion all are invited to Cafe Clyde for light refreshments and to networking. To help us gauge numbers please use the booking link provided.

This event is co-hosted with the Civil Division and Water and Environmental Engineering Society and CIWEM.
