About the event

We are entering an exciting new phase in the evolution of smart cities. Technology is increasingly pervasive, with rapid advancements in computing power, connectivity and data storage enabling us to connect things at a massive scale. This being driven by the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data. The pace of adoption of these technologies and how they are used to create more liveable cities will become the basis for long-term economic growth. There is a real opportunity to leverage this to address some of the biggest challenges that cities face – tacking climate action, growing sustainable mobility, delivering enhanced environmental monitoring and outcomes and reducing the energy we use. We also have a unique opportunity for Dublin to become a global leader in Smart Technologies. The promise of the smart city has been slow coming – the next 5 years will see a large-scale transformation like we have never experienced before. This presentation will highlight Dublin’s Smart City credentials and what needs to happen to maximise the opportunities.
