About the event

This presentation discusses a new OPW guidance document designed to reduce the impact of drainage maintenance and flood relief on watercourses. The guidance is a practical handbook that brings lessons learned from environmental problem solving throughout the OPW. The guidance provides a balanced approach to works and through training, knowledge, skills and fostering of staff competencies in order to support successful environmental management.

About the speaker

Tony Brew, Chartered Engineer
Currently working as an Engineer within the Environment Section of the OPW with responsibility for ensuring that Arterial Drainage Maintenance, Flood Relief and other OPW Services are in compliance with the Habitats Directives, Environmental impact assessments, strategic environmental assessments and other relevant legislation.
