About the event

Come along and hear about how the electricity transmission system is evolving to account for the increasing penetration of renewables. John Ging will speak about the challenges and opportunities associated with system operations and grid integration now and into the future in line with EirGrid’s new strategy. You will hear about new technologies and approaches associated with system stability, system services and market integration and how the power system might look at the end of the decade.

About the speaker

Dr John Ging - Head of the Near Time team, EirGrid
John holds a BE and PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from UCD.  He is an Irish National Committee member of the IET and is involved in a number of Cigré working groups on system and market aspects as well as IEC and CENELEC standards working groups through the NSAI.
