About the event

Does the PI policy itself contain hidden risks for fire consultants?

Professional indemnity insurers underwriting fire risks have been hit by heavy claims.  Premiums are not only escalating, but insurers are now seeking to restrict cover. Designing projects under current fire standards/norms or correctly following published industry standards does not guarantee cover anymore. As it is getting increasingly difficult to secure proper PI cover, fire consultants should take appropriate actions to limit the impact of this emerging risk.  Fire consultants need to clarify the scope of their services to their brokers and clients and to align their contractual responsibilities with their insurance cover (if any).   You are not alone, and the hardened PI market can be softened.
