Overview
The term Analytics means many different things to different people. Add to this, topics such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, people can often be left confused as to what it all means. This one-day course will go through the techniques and algorithms used in this area and give concrete examples of how different companies have used analytics to drive decisions across their organisation. Attention will be given to examples of how Analytics has been applied to area of interest to Engineers.
Course aim
After completing the course delegates will have a working knowledge of how analytics tools and techniques can be used to leverage their extensive data resources. They will understand how to manage analytics projects and teams and have an appreciation for the tools and technologies available in this space.

Trainer Profile
The workshop will be facilitated by one of the Analytics Store’s experienced analytics professionals: Brian Mac Namee or Aoife D’Arcy.
Aoife D'Arcy, Managing Director and Chief Consultant at the Analytics Store, has degrees in statistics, computer science, and financial & industrial mathematics. With over 14 years of experience in analytics consultancy with major national and international companies in banking, finance, insurance, manufacturing and gaming; Aoife has developed particular expertise in risk analytics, fraud analytics, and customer insight analytics.
Brian Mac Namee, Director of Training at the Analytics Store, has over 12 years’ experience in analytics training, and consultancy. With particular expertise in analytics fundamentals Dr. Mac Namee has delivered analytics training nationally and internationally for large organisations. In addition Dr Mac Namee manages a group of researchers focusing on a wide range of applications of analytics and regularly presents and publishes both nationally and internationally on this work.
