Design Thinking: Taking Innovation to a Higher Level

Seminar Overview

Every engineering-led organisation in Ireland, right across the public- and private-sector, is now challenged to change: to increase competitiveness; to improve product and service delivery and to sustain jobs.  Today, both Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland promote a strong agenda of transformation and innovation. The difficulty is, many organisations simply don’t know where to begin when it comes to innovation.

‘Design Thinking’ is one of the biggest breakthrough methodologies of the past 20 years, empowering engineers and engineering managers with a fresh approach to resolving business challenges such as product design, service delivery and process execution. ‘Design Thinking’ enables engineers to view challenges through the fresh lens of creativity, first, in order to then unlock innovative solutions.

Engineers with strong critical-thinking and analytical skills can develop significantly enhanced creative capabilities thanks to ‘Design Thinking’ practice.

Seminar Aim

This seminar, led by globally-acknowledged expert Darrell Mann, will combine the theory of ‘Design Thinking’ with concrete examples from various engineering-led organisations that have adopted the approaches to deliver successful changes, reaping tangible rewards.
