About the event

The presentation will demonstrate the innovative approach taken to the design and rehabilitation of a 5.2km strategically important watermain which ran through Swords Town Centre.  It will detail the project challenges associated with working on a high pressure watermain in a high density urban area and how they were overcome using a trenchless solution of slip-lining.

About the Speakers

Peter Kehoe is a Project Manager with Irish Water and was responsible for project delivery including budget, programme and technical output. Peter is a Chartered Engineer with 10 years` experience in the utility industry.

Patrick Cunningham is an Associate Director with TOBIN Consulting Engineers and was the Employers Representative for the project delivery.  Patrick is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the water services sector, in Ireland, specialising in water conservation and asset management.

Eoin Morton is a Project Communications Lead with Irish Water. Eoin is a chartered communication professional with 9 years` experience and is a member of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland. Eoin managed Irish Water’s stakeholder engagement with elected representatives, businesses and the general public for this project.

Cathal Kelly is a Contracts Manager with GMC Utilities and was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project. Cathal holds a Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering and has over 16 years’ experience in the Civil Engineering and Construction Industry.

Colm Connally is a Project Manager with GMC Utilities and was responsible for the day-to-day site management of the project. Colm has a Degree in Civil Engineering from NUI Galway and has 10 years` experience in the utility industry.
