Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 23,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, state bodies and the public service. As one of the country’s largest and longest established professional bodies, we liaise closely with the engineering community to act as the voice of the profession and to promote excellence through a programme of ongoingn accredited professional development and certification.

Engineers Ireland plays a key role in the timely professional development of its members through the promotion and the provision of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). In 2016 Engineers Ireland will deliver open training courses, in-company training courses, CPD seminars & specialist topical events as well as accredited continuing education programmes, the CPD Certificate in Professional Engineering, the CPD Diploma in Professional Engineering (both at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications) and the Fast Track programme.

Engineers Ireland is currently seeking to recruit a CPD Executive on a maternity leave contract to plan, implement and continuously improve a suite of training programmes for members.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality CPD training events, across all aspects of scheduling, trainers, bookings and the
    overall project management for events;
  • Investigate and evaluate potential training opportunities;
  • Develop and manage relationships with clients, trainers, partner organisations and stakeholders;
  • Undertake bi-annual training needs analysis surveys of members;
  • Liaise with clients to deliver in-company training programmes as required;
  • Undertake financial planning and reporting of CPD events;
  • Execute marketing, promotion and sales campaigns (both direct and digital);
  • Manage content across a range of platforms including web, e-communications and content
    management system;
  • Contribute as part of the Engineers Ireland team to achieving our overall goals and objectives.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong sales and influencing skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in delivering a wide range of quality events.
  • Clarity, consistency and conscientiousness in all communications.
  • Event planning and financial management skills.
  • Knowledge of working across a range of platforms.
  • Ability to confidently discuss and advise on all of Engineers Ireland’s CPD offerings.
  • Experience in Learning and Development will be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels.

A high level of initiative, energy and motivation with an ability to devise and implement continual process

The role will be based at Engineers Ireland headquarters in Dublin with some nationwide travel required and will report to the CPD Director. The role will be for nine months. A remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
