Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 25,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, and the public service. We support our members by ensuring that they are equipped to benefit from all the opportunities that a career in engineering brings, through a programme of ongoing continuing professional development (CPD) and certification. We build long-term relationships with our members, supporting their career development at all stages from students and recent graduates to senior engineers and CEOs.

Engineers Ireland is currently seeking to recruit a CPD Executive who will have responsibility for planning, managing and continuously improving a suite of training programmes for our members.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality CPD training events, across all aspects of scheduling, trainers, bookings and the overall project management for events
  • Investigate and evaluate potential training opportunities
  • Develop and manage relationships with clients, trainers, partner organisations and stakeholders
  • Undertake bi-annual training needs analysis surveys of members
  • Liaise with clients to deliver in-company training programmes as required
  • Undertake financial planning and reporting of CPD events
  • Execute marketing, promotion and sales campaigns (both direct and digital)
  • Manage content across a range of platforms including web, e-communications and content management system
  • Contribute as part of the Engineers Ireland team to achieving our overall goals and objectives
  • Deliver efficient, friendly and focussed responses to CPD queries by phone, person to person and through written communications
  • Manage special projects arising • Play an active part in achieving agreed team goals and objectives and contribute to other cross-functional teams
  • Undertake general administration and support duties

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience in delivering a wide range of quality events
  • Event planning and financial management skills
  • Knowledge of working across a range of platforms
  • Ability to confidently discuss and advise on all of Engineers Ireland’s CPD offerings
  • Experience in Learning and Development will be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • A high level of initiative, energy and motivation with an ability to devise and implement continual process improvements
  • A qualification in L&D, HR or event management would be an advantage

The role will be based at Engineers Ireland’s headquarters in Dublin and will report to the Associate Director CPD. While predominantly office based, this role will require nationwide travel on a periodic basis. This role is initially on a two year fixed-term contract. A remuneration package commensurate with the role will be offered to the successful candidate.
