Differences will always occur on construction projects and parties require real-time solutions. Dispute avoidance and early intervention in construction disputes allows works to proceed without delay or extra costs. With increased investment in construction and infrastructure, and the resurgence of the Irish construction industry, the need for practical guidance on dispute avoidance and non–litigious dispute resolution procedures cannot be underestimated.
This is a rapidly developing area, internationally with FIDIC, ICC, CIArb and others promoting Dispute Boards, and at home in Ireland with the introduction of Project Boards, Standing Conciliator in Public Works Contracts, and the increased use of mediation for construction disputes.
This one-day Conference will give delegates detailed information on developments in this area, in the Irish context and what is international best practice.

A wide range of experienced speakers and practitioners in this specialised field, in Ireland and internationally, including (in no particular order):
Professor Nael Bunni, Richard Appuhn (FIDIC President’s List Adjudicator), Murray Armes (Adjudicator UK), David O ‘Brien (Office of Government Procurement), Peter Chapman (FIDIC President’s List Adjudicator (TBC)), Siobhan Fahey (Chair, Engineers Ireland DRB), Gerard Monaghan (Chairman CIArb- Irish Branch), Dr Brian Bond, Tim Ahern, Niav O’Higgins (Arthur Cox Solicitors (TBC)), Gerard O‘Brien, Tom Carey (daa plc), and Bill Morrissey (Chair, CIArb Dispute Avoidance Group).

This conference is a collaboration between Engineers Ireland and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators - Irish Branch.
