Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon (LTTS) is a world class provider of aero engine component repair services to airlines and engine overhaul shops. It adopted the Engineers Ireland CPD Standard five years ago to improve its engineering talent development.  It is a strategic initiative that is aligned with its Company vision.  Aligned to Criterion 7 of the CPD Standard,

LTTS implemented an ‘External Learning Linkages: Stakeholder engagement model’ which reviews, plans, prepares and engages with its key stakeholders in order to maximise the value delivered to clients, suppliers and LTTS staff alike. This model uses a list of Strategic External Linkages compiled under the headings of strategic learning linkage partner, area of business, measurable benefits and engagement LTTS encourages employees to develop learning linkages outside the organisation to broaden their knowledge base and stimulate fresh thinking.

It focuses on a small number of organisations that are considered strategically important to its learning and development, identifies the potential benefits and defines how it engages with them. The initiative has already delivered some successes for both employees and the company.
