Job Overview

The Engineering/Facilities Department within IEPRO supports maintenance, manufacturing and facilities across the site.

This is a broad-ranging role with opportunities to become involved with a variety of activities and projects within the Shannon site:

  • Co-ordinating project activities within IEPRO that are related to the equipment and facilities across site.
  • Become the mechanical SME from an Engineering perspective to advise maintenance teams on technical matters.
  • Be involved with designing new solutions or improving on existing implemented solutions within manufacturing operations and facilities.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Work with internal customers to understand relevant issues and work with the required resources to achieve objectives
  • Work with external vendors/contractors where services and/or goods which are being outsourced.
  • Be Safety conscious at all times, be able to advise people across all levels with respect to concerns identified.
  • Complete and update documentation whether related to equipment or contractors.
  • Assist with PPS activities, including Risk Assessments
  • Raise purchase order requisitions
  • Negotiate with suppliers/vendors
  • Be able to objectively challenge demands in order to obtain best solutions from time, budget and technical perspectives.
  • Track and report on progress of activities.

Criteria Skills

  • 3rd Level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Sound Mechanical knowledge is a requirement, hands-on experience is valued.
  • Hydraulics experience is an advantage
  • 3 years’ experience in an industrial environment
  • Cost awareness – the ability to manage costs within budgets.
  • Project management skills are an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • CAD skills are an advantage and ideally CREO.
  • Good team player who is self-motivated and requires minimal supervision
  • Good presentation and inter-personal skills
