The Organisation

Engineers Ireland is the professional body for engineers and engineering in Ireland. With over 25,000 members across the island of Ireland and overseas, we focus on the promotion and development of all disciplines of engineering, working collaboratively with industry, educational institutions, state bodies and the public service.  As one of the country’s largest and longest-established professional bodies, we liaise closely with the engineering community to act as the voice of the profession. We also work to promote excellence through a programme of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and certification and we are now seeking to hire a CPD Executive to support this objective.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Market the Engineers Ireland CPD Accredited Employer standard to engineering-led employers
  • Provide best-in-class Learning & Development consultancy and support to participating organisations to assist them to achieve and maintain the CPD Accredited Employer standard
  • Lead CPD Accreditation audits on behalf of Engineers Ireland
  • Deliver Engineers Ireland mentoring training programme
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of CPD best practice events
  • Contribute to process improvements and be active in Knowledge Management as part of the CPD team
  • Play an active part in achieving agreed team goals and objectives and contribute to other Engineers Ireland cross-functional teams as necessary
  • Undertake general administration and support duties as required

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Degree level qualification in Learning & Development or Human Resource Development or Engineering
  • Knowledge of best practices in Learning & Development, including mentoring and coaching
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong presentation skills are essential and experience delivering training would be an advantage
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • Strong business and marketing acumen and proven ability to innovate
  • An excellent working of knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Work experience across a range of engineering industry sectors would be an advantage
  • Strong initiative, energy and motivation
