ARC Consultants is a multi-disciplinary consultancy working in the areas of environment, design and development with an emphasis on assessment of sunlight and daylight access, visual impact and impact on architectural heritage. ARC provides assessments of sunlight and daylight access, as part of planning applications, planning enforcement matters and rights to light cases.

ARC is looking to recruit a 3D CAD modeller, with experience in the assessment of sunlight and daylight access to join our growing team. The role will include modelling buildings from architectural plans/elevations, photographs and survey, to produce a three dimensional model. The successful candidate will then use this three dimensional model to assess sunlight and daylight access in or around existing buildings or a proposed development. It is essential that the candidate will be able to work to a high level of accuracy and within tight deadlines, both as part of an established team and under their own initiative. Given that ARC provides a range of services related to the assessment of impact of development on the built environment, it is likely that the successful candidate will also be required to have some involvement in other types of analysis, including the preparation of photomontages for visual impact assessment.

Other desirable skills include competency with Ecotect, Radiance, 3D Studio Max, Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Revit. A full drivers licence would be of benefit. While experience in undertaking sunlight and daylight analysis is essential, experience in the preparation of reports analysis the findings of that analysis would also be advantageous.

The interview process will comprise a short initial phone interview, a take home sunlight/daylight assessment assignment and a final in-person interview.
