About the event

Flooding is a natural process that appears to be more prominent around the globe in recent years.  With climate change, the frequency, pattern and severity of flooding is forecast to change and become even more damaging.

In this presentation, Barry O’Connor from Mott MacDonald will discuss Flood Risk Management measures and techniques with focus on methods to reduce peak flows in areas at risk from fluvial flooding.

This presentation will be of relevance to engineers with a range of responsibilities, including designers, project managers and engineering managers.

About the speaker

Barry O'Connor Chartered Engineer
Barry is Project Manager, Flood Risk Management at Mott MacDonald in Cork where he has worked on major flood relief schemes including the €45m Enniscorthy Flood Defence Scheme, the €10m Clonakilty Flood Relief Scheme and the €35m Clonmel Flood Relief Scheme.
