About the event

A joint event with the Structures and Construction division.  This talk will explore the range of seen and unseen work undertaken at St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin.  The importance of understanding the history of the fabric will be discussed and the current cleaning and repair project in the Lady Chapel will be looked at.

There will be announcements of the status of Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers in Ireland.

About the speaker 

John Beauchamp has 22 years experience in conservation and repair of historic buildings.  In 2002 he was appointed surveyor of the works to St Patrick’s Cathedral and in 2007 was appointed Cathedral Architect.  He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects since 1988 and in 2006 he was elected a member of RIAI.  He formed benjamin + beauchamp architects in 2007.
