Where now for the Construction Industry in the West / Mid-West…?
About the event
The last 12 months have been traumatic for all those involved in the construction sector. An industry that was already under pressure has seen workloads continue to fall, more companies go out of business and the number of employees drop below 100,000. Everyone associated with construction now ponders on the future of the industry. In this presentation, Mr Tom Parlon, Director General of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) will address what this future may hold and examine some of the more focused issues within the sector including the black economy, below cost tendering, public capital investment, house building and other issues that will affect the overall performance of the industry in the months ahead.
NOTE: A free bus to this venue will depart the University of Limerick at 18:15 and Limerick Institute of Technology, Moylish at 18:45pm
Also on the night, a representative from the Engineers Ireland Membership Team will be hosting a stand to take any membership queries you might have in relation to routes to membership, benefits of membership and how to apply for a professional title such as Chartered Engineer.
