About the speakers

Ralph Montague is managing partner of ArcDox, a specialist BIM consultancy practice based in Dublin providing professionally managed advice, production, support and training services to the construction and property industry. A registered architect with over 30 years’ experience in managing large projects, Ralph endorses BIM as a more cost effective and highly efficient way of producing and managing design and construction documentation and improving the building process.  He is a member of the National BIM Council of Ireland and coordinator of the Construction IT Alliance (CitA) BIM Group. In these roles, he has been instrumental in leading the development and adoption of BIM in Ireland since 2009. As past chairman of the RIAI practice sub-committee for BIM, Ralph has represented Ireland on the Architects Council of Europe (ACE) BIM Working Group. He is the current chair of the NSAI Technical Mirror Committee on BIM, monitoring the work on European Committee for Standardisation (CEN TC442) and International Organisation for Standardisation (ISOTC59) technical committees on BIM standards. Ralph is also a part-time lecturer at TCD’s School of Engineering Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Management.

Jaime Mulcair is a Chartered Engineer and BIM Manager for Roadbridge Limited, a Civil Engineering Company based in Limerick, specialising in the international delivery of complete infrastructure projects from £1m - £300m, across all sectors for a broad range of clients and contract conditions. With over 19 years’ experience in managing large projects, Jaime leads the Roadbridge BIM Department and Digital Construction Team whose task is to implement Roadbridge’s Corporate BIM Strategy.  He was appointed BIM Manager in June 2018 and led Roadbridge’s Certification to PAS 1192:2 in line with the British Standards Institute. Roadbridge achieved this certification in December 2018.

Aidan O’Connell is a Chartered Engineer and Director with PUNCH Consulting Engineers. PUNCH Consulting Engineers recently achieved verification certification from the British Standards Institution (BSI) for Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 Tier 1.  As BIM Director, Aidan guided PUNCH Consulting Engineers to successfully attain the British Standards Institution (BSI) verification certification.  Since being introduced to BIM in 2008, Aidan has had a keen interest in implementing BIM on PUNCH projects. His interest also extends to 3D analytical software and the integration of these models into BIM.  PUNCH is now one of the few Civil/Structural Engineering consultancy’s in Ireland and the UK who have this certification. This demonstrates PUNCH commitment to innovation in all areas and we believe BIM represents the future in how buildings will be designed, constructed and operated.
