About the event

Pietro Jarre, an international speaker, will deliver this Annual Professional Lecture by tackling several diverse issues to support a change management model necessary for the challenges professional engineering organisations face during the chilled winds of an economic downturn. The speaker, as a Chartered Engineer, is in a safe place when solving complex rock mechanics problems, but his deep passion is to identify the types of change processes necessary to bring about organisational improvement. This stimulating lecture will tackle cultural awareness, stakeholder ownership and client service on the one side and link these to the challenges of resilience and sustainability on the other side, as well as the thorny matter of professional independence. The connectivity across global matters including climate change, energy consumption, water conservation, resource management etc, will lead to a fascinating discourse at board level of Corporations, Government Departments, professional advisors and social enterprises - something for everyone, as this talk searches out solutions to the ideal of ‘Engineering Earth’s Development while Preserving its Integrity’.
