About the event

The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform’s Capital Plan "Building on Recovery - Infrastructure and Capital Investment 2016-2022" committed €6 billion expenditure to roads in Ireland over the seven-year period 2016 to 2022. The Government's "Project Ireland 2040 National Planning Framework" and "National Development Plan 2018-2027" published in 2018 further committed to capital roads expenditure with a specific national strategic outcome of enhanced regional accessibility.

This presentation will outline what this means for road development in Sligo and will describe the major road projects in Sligo at various stages of development including the N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin project, the N16, N17, Western Distributor Road and Eastern Garvogue Bridge projects.
