In this presentation, Don Houstan of Byrne Brothers, will talk about their role in building Europe's tallest building - The Shard.
Byrne Brothers were appointed by MACE to carry out the concrete substructure and superstructure works in a contract worth more than £50 million. The substructure adopted 'top down' techniques and the main structural core was slip formed in parallel solutions which delivered significant programme advantages.
