This lecture is the last in a series of four lectures by experienced professionals examining the regulations government design and site requirements for safety in construction.
This lecture will provide an insight into the practical issues seen during inspections and the issues driving the 2013 construction regulations. It will provide a legal perspective on the enforcement of the legislation and how a case is defended.
About the speakers
Michael Flynn is the senior construction sector inspector for the HSA in the south west region. His background is in marine engineering, he joined the Department of Labour as a factory inspector in 1983 where his duties included inspection in general manufacturing industry before later specialising in the transport of dangerous goods and the design and operation of petrol stations.
Finola McCarthy is a partner in Ronan Daly Jermyn Solicitors where she heads up the firms projects unit specialising in construction law and advising on all aspects of construction and engineering contracts and related project issues such as health and safety, planning and environmental law.
