About the event

This lecture is the first in a series of four lectures by experienced professionals that will examine the regulations governing design and site requirements for safety in construction.

The lecture will review the legal framework behind the Construction Regulations, the requirements of the regulations and the roles/responsibilities identified, with particular focus on those of the Client.  The ongoing development of the regulations will be examined and the likely impact of the draft 2013 Construction Regulations assessed.

About the speaker

Jim Leahy is a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.  He is a technical director of RPS, with responsibility for health and safety management and consultancy.  Jim is the tutor on the IOSH approved course on the role of the PSDP provided by the Construction Industry Federation.
