About the event

If you are an engineer, architect or any other built environment professional and are challenged to find business in the current economic climate you will be interested in attending an Information Evening in Mallow, November 26th or Clonakilty, December 3rd, hosted by the North Cork and West Cork Enterprise Board in association with viaFulcrum.

These free viaFULCRUM information evenings will highlight the benefits of working in a collaborative manner, in a shared environment or in virtual offices in order to export design and construction services.  viaFULCRUM is supported by Cork County & City Enterprise Boards, Cork City Council and Cork City Partnership.

The contraction of the construction industry in Ireland has left a huge surplus of highly skilled and experienced engineering, architectural and other built environment professionals. Graduates from third level colleges are joining the market with skillsets in the latest technology to join this surplus.  Is the only alternative to leave the country to get work?  Are there strategies to retain the experience within the industry and the investment made in education? Emigration comes at an economic as well as a social cost. Do we have to lose the potential of these highly educated and experienced professionals to generate income in Ireland?  With technology, determination and know-how, professional services can now be exported, as in other industries.

The formation of viaFULCRUM for Built Environment Professionals is a means for targeting construction projects primarily in International markets. viaFulcrum is a multidiscipline group of experienced Built Environment professionals offering  comprehensive services, individually and together, across a range of sectors, see www.viafulcrum.com.

The first viaFULCRUM office is located in Cork City where members share low-cost, low risk affordable office space that includes common areas, canteen and meeting room.  For members that have their own offices, hot desks are available when working on projects with other members. viaFULCRUM members network, collaborate, share knowledge and train together, and are better placed to bid for projects.
